'HAPPY 129TH  ANNIVERSARY'

On May 27, 1876, the official record of our beginning  was initiated in the Henrico County Court House.  These trustees of Providence Park Baptist Church, Messieurs Richard Jones, Enoch Braxton and Peter Markin purchased the land for the site of our church for the sum of forty-five dollars ($45.00).    Prayer meetings and testimonial gatherings in the homes of early neighborhood settlers before 1876, seem to have produced a cadre of faithful believers in Jesus Christ and they formed the core of what later came to be known as the Providence congregation.
