The PPBC Sunday School

The Sunday School is the church at work.

It is a worshipping and serving fellowship in

which members engage in study, worship, and service to become more mature Christians themselves and to help fulfill the Christian mission in the world.  Therefore, the function of the church school is to assist persons of all ages to grow in the understanding, experience, and expression of the Christian religion by providing regularly scheduled learning opportunities.  These learning opportunities include the recognition of the student’s social particularities, such as race and gender, through which the Christian message is received.

Our African-American heritage provides an even greater opportunity for understanding the plight of a people whose existence has been maintained through faith.  The Baptist denomination allows for an expression of faith through identification with Biblical personalities who were oppressed, yet overcame.  We receive strength from that identification and our relationship with one another and our expressions of care and concern for the other one for whom Christ has died.

Transportation is available to you at no charge.  Please call the church at 329-1963 to arrange for van transportation.  If you plan to drive to Providence, call and get directions to the church. Also, you may obtain a map of the church site on the front page.

(Nursery  service is  available on Sunday while you worship)
