During the early 90's the PPBC Vacation Bible School under the pastorate of Dr. Miles J. Jones offered a course entitled, "Learn To Play Handbells." which was taught by Mrs. Anne Williams. As a result of this course an interested group of women continued to study with Mrs. Williams for a year until the group disbanded.

   The PPBC Handbell Choir was subsequently organized in November 1997 under the direction of Mrs. Carolyn Pauley.  In July 2000, the PPBC Handbell Choir was renamed the T.D. Hatcher Memorial Handbell Choir.
